Spring Wedding
It’s wedding season again!
My first of the season was at the beginning of March in the university chapel - St Salvator’s and then Kinkell Byre. I have to admit, after the break in January and February I was itching to photograph a wedding again.
I began the day photographing the bridal preparations at Catriona’s parents’ home and although it was raining we still managed to get some lovely photographs inside using both the ambient light and my portable studio lights.
The weather brightened up by the time I got to St Salvator’s and I photographed Jonathan with his groomsmen before the bridal car arrived.
The weather remained mixed while I photographed at the Quad but I used the cloisters for shelter and we got some beautiful couple photos there.
As we headed to Kinkell Byre, the sun came out from behind the clouds so we stopped on our approach for a photograph overlooking the golf course and the sea. The light was quite simply – perfect!
The Byre is such a lovely venue for a wedding, so romantic and warm with all the fairy lights twinkling. Before I photographed the speeches I took a few shots of some of the guests.
I returned in the evening to photograph the first dance.
It was a truly wonderful wedding to cover.
Next week, another St Salvator’s wedding……
